Frequently Asked Questions

Everything patients ask us most about hearing, hearing aids and balance.

What Does An Audiologist Actually Do?

Audiologists diagnose and treat hearing and balance — hearing tests, earwax removal, hearing-aid fitting, tinnitus therapy and dizziness assessments. No referral needed: book directly and get answers in one visit.

Can Anything Be Done About Ringing Ears?

Yes. Most tinnitus improves with a proper hearing test, earwax removal, sound therapy and, where hearing loss is present, well-tuned hearing aids. Most patients notice relief within weeks of starting care.

Common Hearing Problem Symptoms And Diagnosis?

Turning up the TV, asking people to repeat themselves, ringing in the ears and struggling on the phone are classic early signs. Our painless 30-minute hearing test maps your hearing across every pitch and shows exactly what you are missing.

Do I Need A Hearing Aid, Or Just Wax Removal?

Surprisingly often, it is wax — impaction alone can mimic real hearing loss. We always examine and, where needed, remove wax with gentle microsuction before recommending anything else. Only if loss remains do we discuss hearing aids.

Are Hearing Tests Painful?

Not at all. You sit in a quiet booth wearing soft headphones and press a button when you hear a tone. Children play it as a listening game. The whole test takes about half an hour.

What Causes Recurring Ear Problems In Children?

Children's Eustachian tubes are short and flat, so fluid drains poorly after colds, temporarily muffling hearing. We test, treat the cause and monitor hearing until it clears — with pediatric-gentle visits throughout.

How Long Do Modern Hearing Aids Last?

Most quality hearing aids last five to seven years with basic care. Rechargeable models remove battery fuss entirely, and our free annual checkups keep them tuned as your hearing changes.

Do You Test Dizziness And Balance?

Yes. The inner ear drives most vertigo, so our balance assessments pair positional testing with a full hearing test — many patients leave with a diagnosis and treatment the same day.
